I have been using obsidian since I heard about it first in 2022 and I love what it has done for me. Even though I don’t write as many notes nowadays in obsidian. I’ve been trying to write as many physical notes as possible lately. But obsidian is still an important piece of software in my life, and will be because it got me into journaling regularly.

Not only that but it has become the central place where all my notes end up in one way or another, even the physical notes that I write. The reason being flexibility of editing, copying, backing up.
Ever since Obsidian released bases, I’ve been making some in my vaults. Bases has finally solved one of the biggest pain points in my Obsidian workflow, which was using dataview. I enjoyed using it, but it was slow and cumbersome when I had to deal with more than 100 files at a time.
Bases finally solved that pain point. Now we can make dashboard and plenty of other things in Obsidian quickly without having that slow complex code to manage everything.
I made a few for everything, from movies, anime, books, YouTube videos, blogs, to even people, and meetings.

I’m more than happy with all I can do with them. Now it feels like I can finally use Obsidian the way it was supposed to be used as.
If you need a piece of software to manage all the things you’ve written. If it’s blogs, articles, stories, notes. Even if you have hundreds of thousands of notes. I think Obsidian is a good choice. There is a bit of a learning curve, first you’d need to learn markdown, but after that it’s pretty easy.
There are also thousands of plugins for specific things, like for making the movies bases I used a plugin called MediaDB that I use to search for movies, anime, series, books, etc. MediaDB basically pulls all the data of the movie that you searched for and creates a file for it will all the details. After that all you have to do is write any notes that you want and you’re done.
